Most of the SMGC tournaments pay off the winners in gift certificates. For example, the first place winner in a flight might win a $40 gift certificate for the Pro Shop at the Sunnyvale Municipal Golf Course.
If you have won a gift certificate, the tournament director in charge of the tournament you played in may hand you the certificate in one of the tournaments in the next few weeks, but only if the certificates are available by that time and both the director and you happen to be at the same future tournament. Otherwise, they will always be available for you to pick up at the first General Meeting after the tournament. (General Meetings are always the third Wednesday evening of each month at the Lookout Inn at the Sunnyvale Municipal Golf Course). If you are not at the General Meeting, then they will be mailed to you with the next month's newsletter. If you normally receive your newsletter notification via email, your gift certificate will still be mailed to you.
Depending on the timing of the tournament in which you won a gift certificate, when the next General Meeting is, and when the next newsletter is mailed out after the General Meeting, it could take up to two months for you to receive your gift certificate.
